On the first day of your Chandranahan Lake trek, you will be transported from Shimla to Jaglik, the starting point of the trek.

You will drive along the Pabbar river, breathtaking pine forests, and charming Himachali villages.

Once you arrive at Janglik, you will spend the rest of the day at leisure, preparing for your Chandranahan trek that will start the next day.

Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Janglik.

This day will mark the beginning of your Chandranahan Lake trek.

Wake up to a refreshing morning and freshen up.

Start from the village of Janglik and embark on your trek to Dayara, passing by beautiful pine forests, rolling meadows, gushing streams, charming wooden farmhouses, and white snow patches.

Upon reaching Dayara campsite, settle down in your tent and relax for the day.

Altitude: 11,737 ft

Trekking Distance: 5.9 km

Duration: 3 - 4 hours

  • Freshen up and start the day by spending some time exploring the lush meadows of Dayara.
  • Take a walk on the breathtaking meadows and soak in the beauty of the landscape as it takes a bath in the lovely golden rays of the sun.
  • The trek from Dayara to Litham will take you through lush green meadows, beautiful brooks, gushing streams, deep pine forests, and tall picturesque snow-lined cliffs.
  • As you trek for around 15 minutes out of the Dayara campsite, you will have to cross a stream, after which you can enjoy spellbinding views of the snow-clad mountain peaks of the mighty Dhauladhar range.
  • Upon reaching Litham campsite, you will take dinner in your tent and retire for the day.

Altitude: 13,900 ft and back to 11,737 ft

Trekking Distance: 6.9 km

Duration: 4 -5 hours

This is the most important day of your Chandranahan trek as you will finally reach your destination, the beautiful Chandranahan Lake, today.

Wake up to this lovely morning and freshen up.

Start early on the trek and proceed towards the postcard-perfect Chandranahan Lake, which is a small perennial snow-fed water body.

This trek will take you through breathtaking forests, a beautiful waterfall, and stunning patches of snow.

Upon reaching the Chandranahan Lake, marvel at the clear serene water, contained in a glacial amphitheatre resembling a small bowl. Explore the small waterfalls around the lake that cascade down beautiful brooks.

Later, trek downhill to Litham campsite, where you will rest overnight.

Trekking Distance: 7.5 km

Duration: 3 - 4 hours

This day will mark the end of your Chandranahan Lake trek and you will start descending to the base.

Freshen up and start your downhill trek towards Dayara.

On the way, you will cross a beautiful stream and head into the Dayara meadows, descending through a picturesque forest.

Your overnight stay will be in a tent at the campsite in Dayara.


Altitude: 9,200 ft

Duration: 4 - 5 hours | Driving Distance: 8 - 9 hours

Freshen up and start your downhill trek towards Janglik from the Dayara campsite.

Upon reaching Janglik, you will be transported back to Shimla.

Around 10 PM, reach Shimla with a bag full of beautiful memories.
