Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Your Tilicho Lake trek will commence upon your arrival at Kathmandu, where a representative will meet and take you to your hotel through a private car or a high-end tourist bus.

  • On your trip to your hotel, you will get a chance to learn about the blend of Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, and Western Influence of the valley and understand the details of the trek..

  • Your first stop on the route is Boudha, which is among the clean and serene parts of Kathmandu.

  • In the evening, you can stroll around the Boudha Stupa and then stop by the Boudhanath, which is one of the largest and holiest Buddhist pilgrimages in the world.

Drive to Chame

  • Wake up early in the morning and get ready for a drive to Besisahar, which connects Kathmandu and Pokhara to several other trekking destinations.

Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang

Trek to Manang Village

  • Day 4 is the exciting day of your Tilicho Lake trek itinerary when you will walk for about six hours through a series of unique and vibrant Chortens to Manang.

  • On your way to the Manang Village, you will cross several fat-roofed houses, bakeries, lodges, and high mountain peaks, like Annapurna III and Gangapurna tower.

  • An old gompa is also there on the edge of the town to explore along with many teahouses and some great winding streets.

  • Upon reaching the Manang Village, you can take a check-in to your teahouse, have a cold beer, and rest for the day.

Explore Manang Village and Ganga Purna Lake

  • Day 5 of the trek to Tilicho Lake is an acclimatization day when you are required to go on a short hike for about a thousand feet or so.

  • The trekkers can indulge in activities like hiking to the Ice Lake, visiting the Hundred Rupee Lama at the gompa cave above Manang, taking a tour of the different bakeries of Manang, or going on a two-hours hike to Milarepa’s cave.

  • Rest for the day to embark on a wonderful adventure the next day.

Trek to Siri Kharka

  • It is the actual day of your trek when you will start your journey toward Tilicho Lake. To start with, you can follow the path down to the river.

  • On passing the Khangsar Khola, you will arrive at Khangsar and reach the village region, which is the conventional part of Tibet.

  • Following that, you will trek with your fellow trekkers to Siri Kharka for an overnight stay in your camp.

Trek to Tilicho Base Camp

  • Have a sumptuous breakfast in the morning and start climbing the newly constructed path after the monastery towards a high ridge.

  • After reaching the high crest, take a descend on switchbacks through the slopes of the side valley of the fundamental valley to the Tilicho Base Camp.

  • Enjoy an overnight sleep in your camp.

Hike to Tilicho Lake and Trek Back to Siri Kharka

  • On the eighth day of the Tilicho Lake trek, you are required to start your trekking expedition early in the morning to avoid the wind and reach Tilicho lake after walking for around three to four hours.

  • After reaching Tilicho Lake, you can spend some time exploring and clicking pictures of the surroundings of the lake.

  • Return to the Tilicho Base Camp to have your lunch.

  • Post lunch, you will trek back to Siri Kharka.

Trek Back to Manang Village

  • The trek continues towards the Manang Village by walking past the riverside and the monastery.

Drive to Besisahar

  • On Day 10, you will leave Manang Village to Besisahar on a jeep while moving across apple farms and tiny villages.

  • Alight to savor the taste of dal bhat for lunch, which is a traditional Nepalese dish.

  • Reach Besisahar, freshen yourself up, and enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel.

Drive Back to Kathmandu

  • Wake up early in the morning and get ready for your departure to Kathmandu on a private jeep.

  • After taking a drive for five hours, reach your hotel in Kathmandu and spend your free time relaxing or shopping in the city on your last day in Nepal.

Depart from Kathmandu

  • It is time to say goodbye to Nepal when you will have breakfast in the cafe and pack your belongings along with the memories spent on the trek to Tilicho Lake.

  • Complete all the formalities of checkout from the hotel, and a representative will drop you at the airport, from where you can continue your journey back home.

By Flight - Tribhuvan International Airport is the closest and the only international airport to the base camp of the Tilicho Lake trek itinerary. This airport receives thirty international airlines from different parts of the world, including Buddha Air, Cosmic Air, Nepal Airlines, and much more. You can even take a flight to Kathmandu from Istanbul and Amsterdam through Turkish Airlines and Arlefly, respectively.

By Train - There is no rail connectivity to Kathmandu. However, you can take a train to Janakpur from India and then take a six hours drive to reach your ideal destination.

By Bus - Buses are readily available from Varanasi or Gorakhpur in India to the Nepalese border of Sunauli. From there, you can take a local bus to Kathmandu. Alternatively, you can take a direct bus from New Delhi to Kathmandu that operates for around 30 hours.
